… My little children, I ask for correction. Correct yourselves, for behold, the time has come to be weighed. I ask for correction in the spiritual life too. Do not go to the little church with a short little dress. Do not let the children eat in the little church. Do not make the little church a canteen. Do not make the little church a house of rest. Do not make the little church a house for talking. Do not make the little church a theater for joking. When you have entered through the door, let your look be holy, up, to the holy heaven, for on the door of the holy altar sits the King, Who came long ago, in the morning He came with the Child in His arms, to sacrifice Him for your salvation.

Why do you always want beautiful, beautiful? Remember the life of a disciple, the devout Parascheva, who, coming from the little church, met a beggar-woman and took off her expensive little garment and the beggar-woman gave her the ugly one, and so that her parents would not scold her she left home. Where? She left for the monastery, for her parents stopped her from her wearing, and she left as a wanderer and went to the monastery. Behold how the virgins in the monastery were in that time: with a poor little dress, not luxurious of price, not beautiful of price. For she worked then too, but with what she worked, she maintained the monastery, not the body, and she maintained God’s house spiritually. Wherever it broke, she repaired. Every nun gave from her work to the repairing and made herself a cell from her work, but not as it is now, luxury.

… I am upset with all the breath of today, not only with the pagans, but with the Christians too, for they run after beauty and after luxury, and these bring much damage to the monastic and spiritual life.

… The dwelling of this spirit has rotted. It is not suffering from unbelief or because it did not have something, but it is heavy suffering, it is heavy sickness from the one who does not want to do My will.

… Lord Jesus said, “Lengthen your little dress!” and she took an ugly look at me. Lord Jesus said, “I have seen you smoking!” and he looked at me as the worst of my enemies. Nor even Caiaphas or Herod looked so fierce as that young man or virgin. Lord, Jesus Christ said, “Let the Christian lady not have her head uncovered, let her not show her bare leg and let her not wear high or sharp heels.” And this led to a great war between them and I. Now I say nothing. I close My mouth and swallow, for it is My turn, but later on there will be your turn, for you will swallow until you swell and crack and you will cry but I will not save you. It is hard Christian. It is hard for someone not to obey My teaching. It is hard, hard, son. This is the sufferance of My vessel through which I speak; the disobedience of My people. This is it, sons; the disobedience of the people in everything. Son, I have the power to heal but let the people who suffer heal it.
